Dollar Tree ideas

As you can guess from the title, I made a trip to the Dollar Tree yesterday. Here are some things I bought, used in ways that may or may not be part of my 2014 HBS Creatin Contest entry.

Small photo frame with part of a light up bracelet:

Here is the original bracelet:

Little reading lamp:

Folding chairs, folding ladders, and "metal" guard rails:

These fellows were included:

(Fortunately, the little guys next door graciously took the action figures.)

Wishing you only good things, Neen

  1. Hi Neen! I think that you found some pretty neat stuff and I have to say that I would never have thought of looking at those action figures. Nabbing their accessories was worth it though, good for you! Love the little light and the bracelet was a clever find too. Well done! :D

  2. Thank you Elizabeth! I have a lot of fun at dollar stores. (I have to say that those action figures were not the prettiest, to say the least.... )

  3. Recycler les jouets en plastique est un gentil challenge. J'en ai des cartons pleins et j'adore plonger dedans. On ne voit jamais les objets de la même façon d'un jour à l'autre et tous les détournements sont possibles....

    1. Dominique,
Recreating the world in miniature using everyday objects is the most exciting part of the miniaturist hobby for me. I think deviant art is probably akin to that, or maybe it's the same thing. At any rate, it makes a good break from work!☺️Xx

    1. Debbie, I would trade the dollar stores to live in England! My love of miniatures was born there when I was a little girl visiting my grandparents in London. The news shop at the corner carried dollhouse furniture, and every penny I had went to buy pieces of it. That shop was magical to me! xx

    1. I think Dollar Tree found some in a backroom and put them out for sale because they are not advertising the lights in their catalogue. Same thing with the bracelet, they were unadvertised. I love the Dollar Tree, I always come way with so many ideas! xx

  10. Great purchases and just like Drora, I also wish we had these stores here. I've missed this blogpost, because I have problems with my readers list, it doesn't show up new updates to me now and than. It's very annoying :(!
