It is so hot here in the DC area, I think a little Christmas will help. So, I am posting some pictures of my mother's dollhouse from Christmas. A WWII child-evacuee from the east end of London, my mother wanted to create a Christmas that did not exist during the war. We turned her Greenleaf Harrison dollhouse into a 1930s stockbroker house, invited the vicar, and the local gentry, set out a feast and had fun. (Since clothing was rationed, villagers showed up wearing clothing from many different eras, and of course, the local pets were also invited.)
Everyone got in on the fun,
Wishing you only good things, Neen

Hello my friend, thank you! It is so much fun to create new and better versions of the past! Hugs to you as well, Neen

Thanks Susan, what a lovely surprise! That cat is Freddy, he used to sleep in dollhouse rooms when he was a small kitten. He clearly doesn't fit now, and he can't figure out why (BTW, he is a very spoiled and pampered cat). Wishing you all the best, Neen
DeleteGreat imagination! Love the trimming of facts (different era clothes) to fit the setting! Perfect for July! CM
ReplyDeleteThanks! Well, we had to explain the divergent clothes, and we did restrain ourselves by leaving out Shakespeare, DaVinci, and Captain Kirk :) Thanks again for the nice comment.
ReplyDeleteThat kitty photo is classic! I wish I still had kitties, so they could do something fun and silly like that. :-) Lots of fun mini stuff going on in your world too! Glad I found your blog today. xo Jennifer
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer, yes, my cats do very funny stunts, even at 13 years old. One of them just emptied a box of business documents because she wanted to sleep in the box...., but, they are very well loved. Thank you for your nice comments and for visiting my blog! Best, Neen (BTW, your blog is fantastic!)
ReplyDeleteI do love the story you have with your posts Neen! And I love the cat photo too - he's one gorgeous boy. Isn't it interesting the way our pampered felines just love the tiny spaces that are provided by our mini houses, whether they fit or not?
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandie! Shhh, don't let the felines hear that they don't fit! :@)
